The Migration Research Group aims to bring together academics and researchers in Libya who study complex migration issues. The Group's goal is to allow researchers and academics to meet regularly, present their work, gather feedback and insights on their research, and share opportunities. As such, the research group seeks to foster cooperation, open exchange, and a learning environment that can enhance migration research within Libyan universities.

The Group consists of researchers and academics from five universities in Eastern Libya, working across a wide range of disciplines, including communications, demography, geography, economics, history, law, political science, and sociology. In addition to being multidisciplinary in nature, the Group includes researchers and academics at various stages of their careers, from post-doctoral researchers to full professors.
